About the role

This is a 12-month contract with the potential to go permanent.

The last 10 months has seen us introduce a brand new marketing capability into Longwall to drive pipeline growth and raise our brand awareness. The team consists of a part-time Marketing Director and full-time Digital Marketing Manager. This role will cover the day to day marketing activities to support the marketing and sales function of the business, assisting with the implementation and monitoring of key lead generation and brand awareness campaigns. You also have the chance to make a new role your own, making a tangible impact to our sales pipeline, with a potential for the role to become permanent.

Remote with 1-2 days per month in the Oxford area for meetings, and occasional team away days.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, your main objective will be to support lead generation and brand awareness activities, with a key focus on generating MQLs for our sales team.  We offer a high quality service, and punch above our weight in terms of our client roster, and so we are well placed to win new business and retain existing clients. You will be working closely with our sales team and our wider technical team, to contribute to the development of our content programme and maximise values from our channels to drive inbound leads and revenue growth.

About you

We are looking for a passionate and creative Marketing Executive with excellent copywriting skills, design skills i.e. Canva, Adobe InDesign, SEO optimisation experience, managing and updating the website, running email campaigns, social media expertise (particularly LinkedIn) and event organisation.

We’d like you to have at least 3 years’ B2B experience, ideally from either the cyber security sector or another related technology sector, and with a familiarity of working with, or within an ambitious SME.  We would be keen to hear about examples of where you’ve taken a technical concept and made it accessible to your target audience and where you’ve contributed to sales revenue as a direct result of marketing activity.  You will also need to demonstrate where you’ve managed stakeholders, been fully hands-on, and have worked towards set targets and KPIs.

Essential skills

  • 3+ years B2B marketing experience
  • Background as a marketing generalist
  • Contributed to profitable lead generation via marketing activity
  • Having worked in a mostly remote role and comfortable with self-motivation
  • The ability to be creative with a limited budget
  • The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Writing optimised copy (basic SEO skills)
  • Top class copywriting skills both in long and short form
  • Sector led campaign planning and design
  • Creating and managing target lists
  • Good understanding of the sales lifecycle
  • Basic design skills for creating assets where needed such as infographics, case studies, sales collateral, newsletters
  • Website copy updates and basic uploads in WordPress
  • Designing and managing a programme of webinars and in-person events
  • Account-based marketing – working closely with the sales team
  • Reporting on statistics and progress to key stakeholders
  • Experience using design tools such Adobe InDesign and Canva
  • Experience using HubSpot for database management and email campaigns
  • Marketing related degree or degree level equivalent qualification

Desirable skills

  • Experience working for an SME (between £2 – £15 million turnover)
  • Experience working in cyber security or other related technology sector
  • Managing external suppliers
  • Creation of video content
  • Either have achieved, or studying towards, a Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification.
