Chris Dawson

Chief Executive Officer

Chris Dawson is one of the founding partners of Longwall Security, setting up the company in 2013. Fulfilling an ambition to set up a trusted and respected brand synonymous with word class cyber security services and expertise, Chris is responsible for all aspects of Longwall’s strategic, commercial and cultural direction.

Prior to Longwall, Chris held senior leadership roles at Sophos where he was most recently Director, EMEA Professional Services. Prior to Sophos, Chris spent 10 years at Epicor Software where he was responsible for $64m of sales revenues across UK, Hungary, Russia, China and Australia. Prior to Epicor, Chris managed a major business transformation and global information systems project at Eurotherm.

Chris has a BEng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Portsmouth University.

Mat Cornish

Technical Director

Mat Cornish is the Technical Director at Longwall, bringing expertise and leadership to the technical side of the business. Since joining in 2018 as a Professional Services Consultant, Mat has quickly risen through the ranks, excelling in roles such as Security Architect. He currently oversees Longwall’s technical services strategy, cyber operations, operational risk management, incident response, and technological innovation.

With a diverse background encompassing both the public sector and private companies, Mat has amassed valuable experience in various aspects of IT support, network and infrastructure architecture, as well as cyber security services. His comprehensive understanding of these domains enables him to provide strategic guidance and spearhead transformative initiatives.

Mat’s commitment to professional growth is reflected in his numerous industry accreditations. He holds certifications from respected organizations such as ISACA, ISC2, CREST, and various technology vendors.

James Gibson

Client Services Director

James Gibson has progressed rapidly in Longwall, initially joining as a Consultant, then Operations Manager, and now Client Services Director. He is responsible for all aspects of Longwall’s client services strategy, including sales, client satisfaction and service delivery.

Before joining Longwall, James began his career as an IT technician before joining an IT managed services provider, where he initially served as an Systems Administrator before advancing to the positions of Consultant and Account Manager. James has consistently placed a strong emphasis on providing exceptional service to clients, enabling them to achieve their business goals. His client-centric approach has extended across diverse sectors, including education, finance, manufacturing, recruitment, healthcare, and market research.

James’s is an ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), an ISO27001 Lead Auditor, and holds various other technical certificates, a reflection of his commitment to professional development.

Kerry Dawson

Admin Services Director

Kerry Dawson is one of the founding partners of Longwall Security, jointly establishing the company in 2013. Kerry is responsible for all of Longwall’s administrative services including business systems, compliance, people and accounting.

Kerry has a career background in purchasing, materials management and just-in-time manufacturing. At Longwall, she uses her experience to drive continuous improvement in the pursuit of process and business efficiency. Today, Kerry is Longwall’s internal infrastructure champion driving the very highest standards of performance.

Kerry has a BA (Hons) in Business Administration specialising in Manufacturing and TQM from The University of Brighton.
